I think they're similar in that some of their issues feel similar, but they went in different directions.For example, in a previous ask, I talked a bit about their relationship with the word perfect: Zuo Ran have a whole "I am not someone without flaw, I am just a person." because he wants to be seen more than how people thought of him.  He wants to be seen as himself too instead of the endless pedestal that people put him on, at least, he wants his partner to not idolize him like that. While Mo Yi felt like he stares at the world and dares them to point if he has any flaws because he has ensure people can't perceive it if there any. That's why him feeling secure enough not to be imperfect around her is so good.

And I think what I like to think about the most is their nature to be independent. Artem is hyper-independent, so much that it can be detrimental to him, but it comes from a place of consideration and love toward adults in his life, his parents, and even Neil occasionally. There is a line that stuck with me from his 4th Birthday, but it's not yet released in glb, so instead I would direct to his HoYoLand SR 

Artem: Well, even I also wanted to grow up like normal kids.... I wanted to spend some quality time with my parent. I wanted to do things I enjoy, tell them about things I like, and even.... laugh carefreely like a kid. But I know that wouldn't work, because they had very important things to do. "I don't know if it's because Artem demands too much of himself or because  he doesn't want to bother others... he rarely asks me for help."

So a child who have a high demand of himself and is considerate to people around him especially his family, this will affect him growing up, of course. After all, in Belle Nuit d'Amour itself, he later said 

"In the past, I thought asking for help was an admission that I wasn't good enough," and "Waiting for her to help me take off the armor I have always worn  and uncover the things I've gotten used to hiding." 

Not to be trouble, not to be a burden, and even to lessen the burden people around him and, at the same time, to answer the standard he put on himself. So this is how we readers got to see the person Zuo Ran back then, who is so used to relying on himself that he forgot that his partner would be there for him anytime.And then we have Mo Yi. 

Vyn is independent, but also, in a way, like a big spite to his family.

The Haspran family name felt like something that tied him rather than helped him, and he went to great lengths to not be associated with them. He changed his name, moved to Stellis, and built things from beginning again as if to say they aren't important to him. 

Ultimately, to show that it can't be said he owes anything to anyone for his current self. This is also related to his relationship with perfections and how he glares at the world as if daring it to point out any flaws from things he crafted carefully to project into the world. 

And yet, for better or worse, this still resulted in them, perhaps unconsciously, seeking another person to rely on.  In this case, Rosa manages to penetrate the armor that they both wear and removed them carefully as she embraced everything that made it them. 

It's one of the example I can think of at that moment but yeah, I think those two once lonely souls, have some similarities it just how they went around dealing with it, goes to different direction.
